Denise ♥’s Wes. A Mountian Top Wedding at Home

Denise and Wes were married October 1st, 2011 at her family’s home near Clyde North Carolina. This was the first time this year that I’ve felt the briskness of fall and leaves were just starting to fall. That said, the family kept warm dancing late into the night with Asheville’s #1 party band “the Business“. Always good to see those guys.
It was a wonderfully artful wedding. Jessica Sloane of Lovebird Style put together a beautiful event that made the most of an already magical fall day.

Denise and Wes at home

We are really looking forward to Shooting Denise and Wes’s wedding at Hurricane Ridge tomorrow. It will be a pretty brisk day, first one of the season perhaps? Anyway, it should be a great day in the mountains. :)

Celebration!

There was much rejoicing. Sound Extreme kept the feet moving.

Dancing By fire light

After the ceremony and reception the Bride and Groom left to go down to the river and dance by a bon fire. It was glorious.

Leah’s Bridals – The Blue Ridge Parkway & Grand Bohemian Hotel. Asheville, North Carolina

You know what is hard to wait for? Blogging Bridals. I love shooting them! But then after they are all ready to go everyone has to keep them totally secret until the wedding day! I suppose it is worth the wait in a lot of ways though. It gives me a good opportunity to blog images with freshly blooming rhododendron for instance…

How about a hand for Leah, just married this last Sunday! She was a wonderful subject for photographs. Working with her (and her Mom, hi Cindy!) was a pleasure.

Very please with how this tunnel of foliage turned out. The light played along all sunset.

Golden Hour turned out very well, as seen above.

The Grand Bohemian provides for lots of uniquely gilded shooting opportunities. A lovely place fo sho.

Ah Mountains. Yep. Glorious.

Josh and Susie, on a chilly spring day in Asheville

What the heck? The weather has been so lovely so far and we got the one windy cold day? Whatever…

Susie and Josh braved the day in sturdy awesome coats. We spent the whole shoot wandering around downtown Asheville, going from shop to shop, kind-of free form. I really like these two shots. One from Asheville’s Fine Arts Theater and the other in front of that cool old Coke mural. Chech’em!

A special thanks to the girl at Fine Arts who generously provided us with free popped corn!

Briana and Dan’s engagement sneak peek

We just wanted to share a couple of quick images from Briana and Dan’s engagement shoot.  They wanted to do something a little different and so we put are heads together and came up with a completely original theme for the shoot.  Ok, just joking (AMC, please don’t sue us).  We might have looked over a couple of stills of Don and Betty Draper before the shoot.

The shoot was awesome and these guys are some great friends so I hope you enjoy it.

Lets make a cake!

Just kidding, we aren’t making a cake. We are reading a photography blog though! So lets look at pictures instead.

Kyla and Justing are getting married on October 7th, 2011. But no one will know that unless they get some Save the Dates out there! The images below are from that very shoot. Enjoy!

Throwback! Autumn and Chris and time travel.

Autumn and Chris, I’m still thinking about you’re engagement pictures. Lots of fun.

Check out these creative shots for their “get to know your photographer” session. The theme, picnicking through time! Good stuff.
